Spectroscopic and electrochemical study of the adsorption of [Co(en)2Cl2]Cl on gamma-alumina: Influence of the alumina ligand on Co(super (III)/(II)) redox potential
Article Abstract:
UV-visible and Raman spectroscopies as well as electrochemical techniques are used to characterize cis- and trans-[Co(super III)(en)2Cl2]Cl (en=ethylenediamine) complexes and the gamma-alumina-supported cis-Co(super III) complex. It is shown that the electrochemical reduction of these complexes occurs according to a multistage mechanism involving two electrochemical steps, with the formation of a dimer that was characterized by UV-visible spectroscopy .

Investigation of parameters influencing the activation of a Pd/gamma-alumina catalyst during methane combustion
Article Abstract:
The progressive activation of a Pd(2 wt %)/gamma-alumina catalyst under the reaction conditions of catalytic combustion of methane (CCM) was studied. It was suggested that the restructuring may be responsible for the activation process by facilitating the formation of an active oxygen layer on the PdO surface and CCM on Pd/gamma-Al(sub 2)O(sub 3) depends on the thermal history of the catalyst and was a structure-sensitive reaction.

Structural evolution of phosphated alumina during sol-gel synthesis
Article Abstract:
Phosphated alumina gels were prepared by the sol-gel method. It is concluded that the aging time is crucial parameter in the formation of coordinately unsaturated sites of alumina.
